I'm still working on indexing the book mentioned below, where some of my free time has been spent instead of updating bloggity blogs. Making great progress with a cross reference of activities with the pages to matching trails. These include more than just the hiking aspect. They include when mentioned parks, camping, swimming, horseback riding, sports activities, picnic spots and much more.
Follow this blog or use a feed reader to get updates on when I add new content.

Hansen's Trail Guide County Index
I own the book above and take it with me whenever I go travelling or it is a tool I use to plan my trips. As I have used this book, I find myself needing more cross-references to find where I'd like to go. I chose to create them myself and have started with searching by counties. I'm going to cover other topics as time goes by, including trail sizes, activities and price (willing to take requests, though I don't promise I'll do them since I am doing this for free). These indexes are very specific to the 3rd edition of this book so they may vary with other editions.
About this download:
This is an index of the trails by county. After the name of the county I listed the grid numbers and then the page numbers where you'll find that county. I did notice that some grid numbers were used for counties that are not in those areas but are nearby, usually this occurs when the trail spans over the county line. This is just a locator tool and isn't 100%, but very close to it.
Download, print out and store with your copy today! If you don't have a copy, there are many available online and in book stores. I paid $35 for mine at a store in the mall. It's worth every penny.
If you have any questions or comments, post them here. I'll get an email notification that you did. If you need a reply, leave an email address or check back for my reply.
UPDATE: This is currently unavailable. I will replace the download soon. I didn't know the hoster would remove it (it expired).

This Blog...
I enjoy walking and I love the state that I grew up in and have lived in all of my life. As I was getting bored of the same trails near home and the same vacations summer after summer, I turned to the bookshelf and the internet for inspiration for both my health and entertainment.
This blog is going to chronicle my finds, from links to books to stories about visits I have taken. It's a tool for me, my friends and now all of you.
Enjoy and feel free to leave messages!
